The two main differences in these two tours is that Quimixto is a lot more untouched and secluded with a village of about 200 inhabitants, a waterfall that’s up the jungle 30 minutes by foot or donkey ride and it has nice and long beaches with very few people. Yelapa on the other hand has a lot of charm in its beach village of about 2,000 people, a short walk to its waterfall and restaurants right on the beach to enjoy drinks and fresh seafood. If you like more rustic, more exploring secluded areas with less tourists, Quimixto is definitely a great option. If you prefer walking around a cute beach village with easier to access points of interest then Yelapa is a great fit.

You can take a yacht to Marietas, but the yachts do not have permits to enter Marietas National Park. Because of this, when we arrive at the park the yacht will wait while we transfer to panga boats to enter the national park and the hidden beach. Only groups of 8 or less can enter the beach at one time if your group is larger than 8 you will have to take two pangas. The cost for this trip is the price of the yacht for 6 hours (any of the yachts we have listed on our website) plus $100 USD per person to enter the park.
-
It is possible to combine the Marietas Island tour with another tour, but because Marietas Islands are in a different direction, it makes a long day. We suggest doing two separate tours, but if you don’t mind a long day we can combine the two.
